St. Johns wort is an herb. Its flowers and leaves are used to make medicine. St. Johns wort is commonly used for depression and conditions that sometimes go along with depression such as anxiety, tiredness, loss of appetite and trouble sleeping. There is strong scientific evidence that st. Johns wort is effective for mild to moderate depression.

Other uses include heart palpitations, moodiness and other symptoms of menopause, ADHD, OCD, and seasonal affective disorder as in SAD. St. Johns wort has been used for exhaustion, to quit smoking, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, migraines, muscle pain, nerve pain and irritable bowel syndrome and cancer like HIV and etc.
