If you are looking to build some serious muscle, make sure the majority of your moves in the gym are compound in nature.

Compound exercises which incorporate multiple muscle groups into a lift, such as chest, shoulders and triceps for bench presses, or the glutes, quads and hamstrings during a barbell squat; allows you to move more poundage and train more efficiently than isolation moves, which essentially target only one muscle group at a time.
