The thing with a plateau is when you get stuck doing the same exercises and your progress has stopped so what do you do. As a Portland personal trainer, I suggest changing the rest and recovery time to prevent from over training, instead of doing 6 sets going light do 5 sets, instead of doing bench press all of the time use dumbells, better yet dumbells on a balance ball. Also change your workout routines like chest and shoulders instead of the normal chest and triceps, whatever works best for you and your body.
